• Brand-new game modes join Mario Kart’s classic ones:
o In Survival mode, race marathon-style on tracks marked by
elimination checkpoints. If you’re not ranked high enough, you’re out.
So hang on tight, you'll need to keep your foot on the gas to stay in the game.
o Set off on an adventure in Stroll mode and relax between wild races.
Explore scenic landscapes, venture off the beaten path, go to the ocean, find
hidden coins and complete hundreds of missions to hone your driving skills
outside of races. You can also strike a pose and snap shots of your road trip
anytime.
o In Grand Prix mode, compete in a series of four races and aim for gold in various cups
around the world. For the first time in the series' history,
the roads connecting each track are part of the competition too! Win all the Grand
Prix events and a vibrant secret track might just appear.
o Battle mode is back, more intense than ever.
o Even more modes: take on time trials in Time Attack mode and go online
to challenge ghost data from racers around the world. You can also
play by your own rules in VS Race mode, choosing to play in two, three, or
four teams, using classic rules to do three laps of the same track or race from
one track to another.

• New racers enter the competition:
Choose from familiar Mushroom Kingdom faces
like Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Bowser — or go for
quirkier characters like Goomba, Spike, or even
a cow.

• Discover new techniques to spice up your
races: use a charged jump to leap over
obstacles, slide along rails, dodge attacks or jump
toward walls and briefly drive on them.
Chain wall-jumps together to uncover secret paths.

• New items offer new ways to race: with the Ice Flower, freeze your opponents (and make their heads spin).
Throw hammers to stun or block rivals. Grow massive
and crush them with the Mega Mushroom, or leap through the air using the Acro Feather.
The lower your rank, the more likely you are to receive powerful items.
• Have fun together, wherever you are: explore lots of ways to play with
friends, whether locally*2 or online*3

o Race with up to 4 players locally on the same console.
o Wireless local multiplayer is also available, and up to eight people (with a maximum
of two per Nintendo Switch 2) can play together.
o Race or battle online with players worldwide,
and meet up with your friends anywhere in the game world in Stroll mode.
