Extended warranty up to 5 years (optional)

On all our products intended for private use, you benefit from a standard 2-year warranty. If you want to enjoy your devices for a long time, HIFI international offers you the Extended Warranty up to 5 years. We offer a one-year extended warranty for all our tablets and laptops, except for Apple products (iPhone, MacBook, etc.), which means a total warranty of 3 years on your tablet or laptop! 

Thanks to this total guarantee, you really don't have to worry about anything. In return for a one-off payment, the Extended Warranty guarantees you total security.

The Extended Warranty is also available for purchases made via our e-shop. Check the option on the product page or in your shopping cart and receive your Extended Warranty contract by post (after delivery of your e-shop order).

The extended warranty in ten questions

1. What is the HIFI International extended warranty?
The terms of the supplier warranty are generally valid for 2 years. With the extended warranty, these are extended to 5 years by HIFI international, extended to 3 years for laptops and tablets, except for Apple products.

2. Who is responsible for the repair?
During the entire warranty period, repairs are carried out by the manufacturer. In this way, you will always benefit from a perfectly qualified workforce and guaranteed original parts. HIFI international takes care of the appointment with the technical service, the management of your file and the payment of the expenses related to the intervention.

3. What should I do in case of a problem?
Simply contact our central after-sales service (+352 20.80.00.00), or your usual branch, which will make the appointment.

4. If I sell my appliance, does the guarantee remain valid?
No. Your contract clearly states that the warranty is strictly personal and cannot be transferred.

5. How much does it cost to have a non-warranty service performed at home?
This varies according to the type of breakdown and the supplier, but currently many technical services charge flat rates of over €100 for travel and labour alone. Parts that need to be replaced will be charged extra.
Thanks to the Extended Warranty, these costs are fully covered by HIFI International until the end of the warranty period.

6. Can I extend the warranty to a device for professional use?
No. The terms of the supplier's warranty, which we extend to 5 or 3 years, apply only to household use.

7. Why, in certain product categories (e.g. televisions), does the price of the guarantee vary according to the price of the item?
In these product categories, defective parts are almost always exchanged and not repaired. On the other hand, the price of certain parts is higher in appliances where the technology is more advanced, which is the case for more expensive appliances.

8. What happens if my appliance is declared irreparable during the warranty period?
If the malfunction occurs within the first 2 years, the device is replaced with an identical one or a model with the same features. If the malfunction occurs after the first two years, we reimburse its residual value in the form of a voucher, valid for 1 year online and in all Hifi International stores.

9. What is residual value?
When a device cannot be repaired (technically or economically), it is reimbursed in the form of a voucher up to its purchase value, reduced by 1% per month of use.

10. How much does the extended warranty for this appliance cost?
The aim of the "Extended Warranty" is to provide our customers with total security for a limited budget. When an appliance benefits from this option, the price is indicated in the frame, located on the right of the appliance, which includes the sales conditions.
