New energy labels
Energy labels play a key role in choosing your household appliances.
Introduced across Europe, they allow you to easily compare the energy consumption of similar products such as a refrigerator, washing machine, or television.
Each label indicates an energy class ranging from A (very efficient) to G (less efficient), along with additional information: annual energy consumption in kWh, noise level, capacity, water efficiency, etc.
This helps you make a more responsible long-term purchase by reducing your electricity use and energy bills.
By choosing higher-rated appliances, you reduce your energy consumption, lower your bills… and shrink your ecological footprint. These labels empower you to take concrete action for more responsible consumption, every day.
Since March 1, 2021, a new energy labeling system has been in place for several household appliances:
washing machines, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, televisions, and more.
Key changes:
Stricter energy classes: end of A+++ classes, return to a scale from A to G.
More realistic measurement methods: consumption calculated based on actual daily use.
Gradual transition: dryers and range hoods will keep their old label until 2025.

Stricter classification criteria
A lower energy class does not mean your appliance is less efficient.
Is your household appliance, previously rated A+++, now only rated C? Don't worry, this is completely normal. The classifications have been tightened. Previously, many appliances could easily achieve an A or higher label because technology had advanced significantly. Lower classes had become almost irrelevant. By making the energy labels stricter, customers can now clearly see which products truly consume less energy.

Realistic consumption figures
Tests are conducted in everyday scenarios.
The new testing methods take normal usage into greater account. Washing machines, for example, are sometimes only half-filled under the new energy label measurement method. Previously, drums were always fully loaded.
Tests were based on ideal conditions.
The measurement method for the new energy labels therefore provides more realistic figures under normal usage conditions. Other data, such as the storage capacity of a refrigerator, will also differ slightly.

A simpler classification.
The European Union is simplifying the new energy labels in 2021. Bulky labels such as A+++ -40% will disappear. They have returned to the original 1995 scale, ranging from A to G. The most energy-efficient appliances will now have an A energy label.

More useful information
Eco-program duration, noise level classes, and QR codes...
A new addition is the classification of noise levels from A to D (where D is the loudest). This allows you to immediately see whether the appliance is quiet or not. In addition, you can now view the duration of the eco-program for appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines.
