Latest coreless direct-drive motor provides stable, high-precision rotation
The technologies acquired during the development of the SL-1200 series and the top-of-the-line SL-1000R model have been generously integrated into the motorized drive unit, a major feature of this turntable. The unit exclusively houses a single-rotor, coreless direct-drive motor from the SL-1200GR to deliver high rotational regularity and signal read accuracy from the record. The motor optimally controls the mass inertia of the double-layer platter that holds the vinyl record, thanks to the sound-absorbing rubber coating applied over the entire surface to eliminate unwanted resonances. The die-cast aluminum chassis eliminates cogging. This rigid die-cast aluminum chassis is embedded in a special material made from ABS plastic mixed with fiberglass, for a double-layer design. The insulator is made of spring and rubber for optimum vibration damping. The tone arm is a universal S-arm with static balance, another Technics signature. The SL-1500C adopts the same cardanic suspension and cut-out housing for high-precision bearings as the SL-1200 series, for perfect sensitivity to initial movement. Its reliability has also been enhanced by the integration of a removable power cable and gold-plated connectors for the PHONO and LINE terminals, to minimize sound quality degradation.

A complete turntable with integrated phono equalizer and cartridge
To help you get the most out of your analog records, the SL-1500C includes a phono preamp and associated cartridge. So, with no need to prepare either separately, you can easily connect the SL-1500C to a wide range of audio equipment. The protective structure of the built-in audio equalizer eliminates the effects of external noise or noise from the power supply. A switch is also provided to allow you to deactivate the LINE output when not in use. The turntable has been designed to carefully eliminate any unwanted effects from the PHONO output. The dedicated power supply to the PHONO output terminal is isolated from that of the LINE output terminal, and has been designed to prioritize sound quality by minimizing wiring of the PHONO signal. Isolated terminals also help prevent wiring errors. The Ortofon 2M RED cell, one of the most popular MM cells, was chosen as the cell of choice. The combination of this top-quality cell and the exceptional performance of the SL-1500C optimizes the sound quality of vinyl records.

Integrated automatic lift for comfortable record playback
Once the tone arm reaches the end of the record, the automatic lift function raises the cartridge without any intervention on your part. This function prevents unnecessary wear and tear on your vinyl records and stylus. By integrating the auto-lift function into the base of the tone arm, no impact is made on it. This simple design enables it to operate without using motor power, and prevents electrical or vibratory impacts without restricting tone-arm movement. This design has been adopted for the automatic lift to meet the demands of many users and to prioritize sound quality. The technical requirements for disc playback have been kept to a strict minimum, for simple, user-friendly operation.
