A Powerline adapter allows you to run your internet connection through electrical outlets. To use PLC technology, or Power Line Communication, a device must be connected to the router. Then, it's possible to place other adapters around the house and benefit from a connection via Ethernet cable or even, with some models, via Wi-Fi. It's a very practical solution for covering a large area.
