Description
Apple HomePod mini 2 – Smart Speaker
Compact, stylish and surprisingly powerful, the HomePod mini 2 proves you don't need a big speaker to fill a room with music. Standing just 8.43 cm tall, it delivers rich, even 360° sound wherever you are in the room. Whether it sits on a shelf, a desk or a bedside table, it blends seamlessly into your home with its mesh fabric finish and intuitive touch controls.
Behind its rounded design lies serious audio engineering. The Apple-designed full-range driver, powered by a neodymium magnet, produces deep bass and crisp highs, while two force-cancelling passive radiators boost the low end without unwanted vibration. Computational audio fine-tunes the sound in real time, giving you the level of detail you'd expect from a much larger speaker.
The HomePod mini 2 gets even better in numbers. Pair two speakers as a stereo pair, play the same music throughout your home with multiroom audio, or combine them with an Apple TV 4K for true surround sound in your living room. With Handoff, simply bring your iPhone close to transfer your music to the speaker. It can also act as a speaker for your Mac, for films, games or video calls. And the top of the speaker lights up with colours that pulse to the rhythm of your tracks.
With Siri, your voice is all it takes. Start a playlist, check your travel time, send a message or set a timer without touching your phone. Thanks to AirPlay, you can also listen to audio from apps installed on your iPhone.
The HomePod mini 2 also works as a home hub compatible with HomeKit and Matter. Control your lights, door lock, garage or front door camera from the Home app, even when you're away. Its temperature and humidity sensors can trigger automations, Sound Recognition alerts your iPhone or Apple Watch if a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm goes off, and Intercom makes it easy to talk between rooms.
Your privacy is protected too: the speaker only listens after "Hey Siri", your requests aren't linked to your Apple Account, and footage from your cameras is analysed on the device itself before being end-to-end encrypted.
With generous sound, a simpler smart home and a discreet design, the HomePod mini 2 is just as suited to a first smart speaker as to a complete multiroom setup.
