Description
The Epson EcoTank ET‑8550 is a large-format multifunction printer (up to A3+) designed for creatives and photography enthusiasts. Equipped with the EcoTank refillable ink tank system, it eliminates single-use cartridges and allows printing up to 2,300 photos with a single set of ink bottles, offering up to 80% cost savings.
Thanks to its six Claria ET Premium inks (pigment black, photo black, gray, cyan, magenta, yellow), it produces documents and images at a maximum resolution of 5760 × 1440 dpi, with vibrant colors and deep blacks, ensuring excellent photo longevity.
In terms of versatility, the ET‑8550 offers print, scan, and copy functions. The high-resolution flatbed scanner reaches up to 4800 × 1200 dpi, perfect for accurately digitizing photos and documents. It also includes automatic duplex printing, saving both paper and time.
Ergonomics are enhanced with a 4.3" (10.9 cm) color touchscreen, user-friendly and intuitive. This interface simplifies navigation, maintenance, and ink refilling. Connectivity is comprehensive: Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet, USB host ports and SD card reader allow direct printing without a computer, from a smartphone or USB drive. The Epson Smart Panel app (iOS/Android) makes management even more convenient.
Media handling stands out with three paper feed paths, including a front tray for A4 or photo, a rear A3+ tray for thick media up to 1.3 mm or banners up to 2 m long, and borderless printing up to 13 × 19″ (A3+).
In operation, the printer remains compact for its category (523 × 758 × 430 mm when printing, 523 × 379 × 169 mm in storage) with a weight of approximately 11.1 kg, making it ideal for a desk or creative workspace.
