Optimum click ratio: designed to perfection

The feel of a keyboard depends on the crucial ratio between peak force (also known as actuation force) and contact force. Peak force occurs when you press the key and reach the maximum force that the underlying rubber dome can withstand without deforming. The contact force occurs when the lower part of the key reaches the printed circuit board to trigger an electronic signal, which in turn generates the appropriate action to the key. To achieve the most natural feel possible on a keyboard, ASUS experts have scientifically determined that the optimum ergonomic click rate for a key is between 45% and 60%. These forces are measured and fine-tuned using ASUS-designed rubber domes under the keys.
