The bottom of the CLARIS filter cartridge contains a layer of natural active ingredients that stabilize the water in the tank and reduce limescale deposits at the bottom. The system works without any additional energy or action: thanks to the natural movement of the water in the tank, it constantly passes through the layer of active ingredients. The CLARIS filter cartridge, with its activated carbon composition, always uses the upflow principle. By means of ion exchange, the upper part of the cartridge filters exactly the amount of water required for a perfect cup of coffee.

Thanks to RFID technology, the coffee machine detects the presence of a filter and automatically activates the corresponding mode. It continuously collects information on the use of the filter and indicates when it is exhausted. Changing the filter has never been so easy, and CLARIS Smart+ is therefore extremely efficient.

In addition to the proven professional upflow principle, which filters exactly the right amount of water for each coffee preparation, CLARIS Smart+ contains a layer of natural active ingredients. The advantage: thanks to the natural movement of the water, it constantly flows through the active ingredient layer and stabilizes on contact with it. This reduces limescale deposits and keeps the water tank as clean as possible.

Suitable for all tap water
With their innovative formula, the filter cartridges are suitable for all tap waters worldwide. The highly effective granules filter out limescale to an optimum level at all times (even with soft water) and reduce harmful and taste-altering substances such as chlorine better than ever before. Minerals and fluorides, which play a decisive role as flavor enhancers, are preserved. Optimal lime stabilization in the water tank and efficient filtration during coffee preparation ensure maximum hygiene and optimum water quality for perfect coffee aroma.

Automatic filter detection
JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable the filter and the coffee machine to communicate. The machine automatically detects the presence of a filter with the Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.®). It then switches itself to filter mode and starts rinsing. When the filter capacity is exhausted, the coffee machine indicates that the filter should be replaced soon. If this is not done, the machine activates the descaling mode. It will then request descaling after the corresponding duration of use. To do this, the filter must be removed. No more operating errors due to misunderstandings.
