Philips TV QLED 4K Ambilight 50QS8631/12 50 inches

The 50-inch (126 cm) Philips 50PQS8631 TV brings together 4K QLED picture quality and the immersive Ambilight experience in a format suited to many interiors. Its LEDs built into three sides spread a coloured halo of light that follows the on-screen action in real time. The picture then seems to extend beyond the frame of the TV, making films, matches, music videos and gaming sessions even more captivating. The AmbiScape feature goes further by synchronising your smart bulbs so that the whole room reacts to every scene.

The 3840 x 2160 4K Ultra HD panel uses Quantum Dot technology to deliver vivid colours and exceptionally sharp images. The P5 Perfect Picture Engine processor enhances every scene with deeper details, brilliant colours, realistic skin tones and natural motion. Compatible with HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG, this TV adapts to your HDR content, whether streamed or played back. Micro Dimming technology improves contrast, and the TV is CalMAN Ready for precise calibration.

Sound benefits from the IntelliSound engine, which relies on artificial intelligence to automatically optimise settings according to what you are watching: film, series, music or news programme. Preset sound styles and custom settings remain available at any time. Compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, it offers 20 W of power through two 10 W full-range speakers, with voice enhancement and night mode.

With the Titan operating system, your favourite films, series and streaming apps are quickly accessible, subject to availability. The TV works with Google Home, is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple Home, and easily joins your connected home thanks to Matter compatibility. The microphone-equipped remote lets you control your devices by voice, and the all-in-one remote also operates your soundbar, headphones and Philips external set-top boxes.

Gamers benefit from the HDMI 2.1 features VRR and ALLM for smooth and responsive gameplay, with Game Bar 2.0 and a special Ambilight gaming mode. In terms of connectivity, it offers 3 HDMI inputs, one of which supports eARC, 2 USB ports, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, a network port, a digital audio output, a headphone output and a DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2 tuner.

Its ultra-slim design with a matte black frame rests on a black metal arch stand. Without the stand, it measures 111.1 x 64.0 x 5.5 cm and weighs 10.01 kg, and it is compatible with VESA 300 x 300 wall mounting. Developed according to European eco-design principles, it comes with a remote made from recycled plastic, FSC-certified packaging and manuals on recycled paper, while Eco mode and the light sensor limit energy consumption.
